I watched the Senate hearings today on the Supreme Court nominee. The nominee, I think, is named Alito. I've never been much for names, but I never forget an impression that someone makes on me. I also never forget a persons eyes, or more precise, I never forget what I see in or what comes out of them, and that's how I recognize people then try to bluff my way out of not knowing their name. I got the impression that he was an honest guy. However, I also know that he's been through many rehearsals. The best brains in the illusion business have been working on him for weeks. After the Senators had told him what they expect to find in him, he was given the chance to talk.

He very humbly stated, via a very good story, that he was still wondering why he was in the Senate being considered for a place on the Supreme Court. He then told about his humble background; like how his father worked in a factory before becoming a teacher, and how an act of charity had enabled his father to go on to higher education. Cause and effect came subtly into play. He is where he is because of an act of charity towards an Italian minority immigrant. If that one act of charity had not been given, then he might not be standing in the Senate answering questions about why or why not he should be on the Supreme Court. Seeing as he's a Republican, it might have an act of PR genius.

He seemed to be saying: Would I go against affirmative action?

Is he republican? Is the Pope a Buddhist?

If it was an act it was a nervous one. His voice wavered slightly, but a nervous appearance does not mean a person is putting on an act. There were many Senators that looked very calm, and who can doubt that they are putting on an act? They have to put on an act to get elected!

After the Supreme Court republican nominee had his say it was then all called off till tomorrow. It looks like high entertainment to me, and come tomorrow I'll be tuned in.

The main thing I got out of the nominee speech is: How did I get here? It got me thinking.

I got to where I am, on the dole, and writing a load of rubbish like, because my life ambition comes down to doing as little as possible. I'm inclined to take the path of least resistance. A new revelation in physics gives me some comfort. It is now claimed that animals automatictly take the path of least resistance so as to conserve their energy. It's like a wild animal never knows where it's next meal is coming from, as such, every move is inclined toward the efficient action of doing as little as possible so as to conserve energy.

Form is energy, and energy is form. If we use more energy than we have, we lose form. It's as simple as that. Yer right, but lets ignore weight watchers of America... Nah lets not ignore them. They eat to much, simple as that, and who can blame them? It's there to be eaten. Food is in abundance. If I had my choices of addictions the last one on my list would be food. I can only be amazed at how they can get by with such an addiction.

However, I am straying from my point, and that is: We follow the path of least resistance in every aspect of our lives with the exception of the aspect that is affecting us personally, when it reaches us we rise up and shout objections, and that, my friends, is a recipe for disaster.

Look back in history. Wannabe dictators come and go, but none of them have succeeded. In the old days the dictating institution might have lasted for a few hundred years, but as time and knowledge progressed, would be dictators were put down in a shorter span of time. Then we get to the 20th century where wars about who's going to dictate become rampant. In the days of supposed democracy we in west had an ignorant edge. The east wanted what we had, but nowadays no intelligent person from the east wants what we have, and I don't blame them.

The East now knows about everything we know, but we are only in the first stages, via quantum physics, about anything that they know!

A war against the east is doomed to fail unless escalated into nuclear war. The only way to beat them is to nuke them, and if we nuke them we deserve the likes of George W Bush because we are fat lazy bastards just taking the path of least resistance.

What is it going to take to be human?
