Here we go again! Just when one gets used to 2005 they change it to 2006. Oh well, such is life. Everything must change.
.........
I was thinking the other day about schism. You know, how religions always seem to split a short while after they come about and they call it a schism. Don't quote me in your history exams, but as far as I see it; Christianity split into the Eastern Orthodox/ Roman Catholic, then the Roman Catholic split again and then the pieces of the pieces went to pieces. Same thing in the east: Buddhism parted company with Hinduism, then Buddhism split into two parts. One part said enlightenment can only be achieved by ones own means. The schism came when the other part said enlightenment can also come with help from others, and it can even come by grace. Needless to say I'm rooting for the latter.

The Buddhist thing reminded me of the western political/financial/government system where we seem to have had the same sort of schism in that the USA went to an individual hard line for it's followers or citizens to gain wealth, and the Europeans went for the more social aspect of things.

It's interesting to note that the USA has never had a socialist government. Why not? Every other western style government has! Also the USA is the only industrialized nation not to have a national health system. I would even go so far as to say that socialism is not even allowed in the USA.

In Europe we have a left wing of politics and a right wing. In America we have a right wing, and a not so right wing where the not so right wing is obviously the one that always loses the election.

Ah but, does the USA stand alone with it's concept of individualism?

In Britain, Prime Minister Edward Heath waved his baton and said: "No more lame ducks." He meant that socialism in Britain was finished. Then Maggie Thatcher proved him to be correct. The Labour Party saw the writing on the wall and swerved into sharp right turn and produced a glib liar called Tony Blair. The most obvious thing about Blair is that he says yes to what any American President says. He said Yes to Clinton, and he says Yes to Bush. It makes no difference to Blair if a President is left wing or right wing because he knows full well that whatever party the President of the USA comes from is automatically the right one.

As such, I think Britain has joined America on the path of individualism. Lame ducks are being left behind, and sitting ducks in Iraq were...agggh, I'm not going into it.
...............

I was a bit down in the dumps the other night, so I decided to watch a show about world war one. For me, nothing puts life into perspective more than world war one. If you think you've got it bad then try to imagine living in a soggy trench and being shot at all day! The only thing worse than living in the damn trench is being told to get out of it.

"Right lads, lets go." He says in a toff voice.

The whistle is blown, the officer leads the way and then falls back into the trench riddled with bullets. But you know that you still have to go "over the top". Your underpants haven't been changed for over two months, and now they're getting even more soiled, but it's for yer mates, and fer yer family, and King and Country, and most of all it about a personal thing called courage. You know you won't be able to live with yerself if you don't go over the top, so you decide that you may as well die once in the field of battle than die a thousand times like a coward.

I remembered how Italy first declared itself neutral, then it came out with a statement about national interest. What the statement meant was we'll fight on the side of the highest bidder. The highest bidder got Italy, and the war got Italian sons and grieving mothers.
.................

The highest bidder still gets our sons, and now they get our daughters too.

..............

Nah, we are not in the information age, we are in the dis-information age. We are in the age of being told not to see what has been obvious to people since we began squabbling with each other at the beginning of time. Time honored basic concepts are being destroyed. They are being replaced with new concepts.. If you don't like the new concepts you are a bad bad person. It's all about good and bad for George W. Bush, and it really is always about good and bad, but up untill now we've always had the honest doubt, and the idea of going to hell has also played its part. However, it's all changed folks. We will now go to hell if we don't support a man that gives orders that he totally believes in. If you don't agree with George W. Bush, you are a bad bad man.

Where does God come into all this? Ah yis, I see, George Bush must be God! Silly me.
............

Ah what the heck.

..........

As far as I can remember, I didn't ask to come to this crazy fuckin planet, and if I was asked to come here, I'm pretty sure that nobody told me that a man called George Bush would be the God of the place. I tell yer, I'm going to be pissed off at more than a few people about the whole damn thing when I get back.

However, now that I'm here, and seeing as I can't do a damn thing about it, I may as well, nah, more like have to, make the most of it.

..............

In this totally fucked up world of illusion and delusion, a world where reality is a thing of belief one day and another the next, I may as well give it a shot at creating my own reality. I mean, why not? Everyone else is!

........

I have to admit that I'm a very good looking guy. Damn it, but no way can the mirror show anything less than perfection. That is, if I disregard my skinny legs. If not for my skinny legs I'd have been a pro football player for sure. My mind is superb. Nothing gets by me...nah the whole thing is falling flat on its face...everything got by me...well let's ignore that part of things. Hmmm. How about life is for living? That sounds okay. No matter what one thinks, and no matter what one believes, we are all here and now. We are all here and now, and illusions and delusions be damned.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.
